Uzbek President to arrive in Pakistan on a two-day visit

Uzbekistan President Shavkat Mirziyoyev will visit Pakistan on March 4 on a two-day official visit, according to a statement from Foreign Office.

The Uzbek president will visit Pakistan at the invitation of Prime Minister Imran Khan.
This will be the very first visit of President Mirziyoyev to Pakistan since holding charge in 2016, as stated by the Foreign Office.

The state visit of President Mirziyoyev would be in accordance with the noteworthy celebration of the 30th commemoration of the foundation of political relations between Pakistan and Uzbekistan.

During the visit, both officials will audit the whole array of respective relations remembering participation for political, education, trade and economic, culture, connectivity, defence and security matters.

Both officials will have a wide-ranging discussion of perspectives on global issues and major regional issues. Various respective agreements/MoUs will be signed between both countries.
PM Imran Khan will hold a one-on-one meeting with the leadership of Uzbekistan followed by a delegation and joint media stakeout.

PM will likewise have a state dinner for the Uzbek president who might also have a meeting with President Arif Alvi.

Both country’s officials discuss majorly on upgrading political and strategic linkages; optimizing trade, travel, and financial ties; improving connectivity; and advancing educational and social coordination.

Earlier PM Khan had also paid a two-day visit to Tashkent at the former invitation of the Uzbek President on July 15, 2021.

In the meantime, Uzbekistan’s Deputy Foreign Minister Furqat Sidiqov while tending a media briefing in Islamabad today emphasized the obligation to additionally fortify bilateral ties with Pakistan through the improved network.

He said the commencement of direct flights between Lahore and Tashkent will take place in the first stage while in the subsequent stage air flights between Karachi and Tashkent be initiated.

Furqat Sidiqov said the impending visit of Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev to Pakistan will help support the trade volume between the two nations.
