Following Israeli strikes, Lebanon’s health minister reported over 50 casualties, with the Israeli military asserting that the air attacks targeted Hezbollah’s intelligence operations and weapon storage sites. Amid escalating tensions, diplomatic efforts are underway to negotiate a ceasefire, with France and the U.S. suggesting a temporary 21-day pause in hostilities.

In a recent meeting, Lt Gen Halevi stated, “We keep striking and hitting them everywhere,” and outlined the goal of safely returning residents to northern Israel. He noted that troops are preparing for ground operations, intending to “destroy the enemy” and its infrastructure. Despite these developments, the Pentagon indicated that an Israeli ground invasion does not appear imminent.

In response to ongoing cross-border fighting, Hezbollah claimed to have targeted Israel’s Mossad headquarters with a missile aimed at Tel Aviv, though it was intercepted without causing damage. The IDF reported that over 280 Hezbollah targets have been struck in recent air campaigns, leading to significant casualties in Lebanon.

Since Monday, Israeli air strikes have reportedly resulted in over 600 deaths in Lebanon, prompting a wave of displacement among civilians. As the situation develops, Hezbollah continues its attacks on Israel, framing them as support for Palestinian allies amidst the broader conflict influenced by the war in Gaza.
