Israel Launches Ground Offensive Against Hezbollah in Lebanon

Israeli soldiers have launched a ground operation in southern Lebanon after the army declared a “limited” military engagement against Hezbollah. This escalation follows a series of airstrikes by Israel on the southern suburbs of Beirut, where multiple neighborhoods were bombed. The Israeli military had previously ordered residents to evacuate these areas, heightening concerns about civilian safety. According to Lebanon’s Health Ministry, these recent attacks have resulted in at least 95 deaths on Monday alone.

In Gaza, the situation remains dire as well. An Israeli strike on the Nuseirat refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip killed at least 13 people, seven of whom were children. This incident adds to the mounting casualties in Gaza, where the toll since the beginning of the conflict in October has reached at least 41,615 fatalities and 96,359 injuries due to ongoing Israeli attacks.

The conflict has also had a devastating impact on Israel, where at least 1,139 people were killed in the Hamas-led attacks that occurred on October 7. Additionally, over 200 individuals have been reported missing and taken captive since the onset of hostilities. The ongoing violence continues to escalate tensions in the region, with both sides suffering significant losses and humanitarian crises worsening amid the military operations.
