Tickets for India-Pakistan World Cup Match Sold Out in Just One Hour

Tickets for the highly anticipated World Cup showdown between India and Pakistan in Ahmedabad on October 14th were in high demand. When the International Cricket Council’s ticketing partner launched its exclusive pre-sale window, all available tickets were quickly snapped up within just one hour.

Although there will be another opportunity for fans to purchase tickets for the India-Pakistan match on September 3rd during the general sale, there’s a strong possibility of another swift sell-out, similar to what occurred on Tuesday when tickets were made available exclusively to Mastercard holders.

The exact number of tickets released for pre-sale for all India matches and warm-up games remains undisclosed. However, it’s been reported that as soon as sales opened at 6:00 PM (IST), all tickets for the day were sold out within an hour. The ‘Book My Show’ website, the ICC’s ticketing partner, displayed a “Sold Out” status for the Pakistan game, a distinction not shared by the other eight India matches.

An insider from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) revealed that the pre-sale was exclusively open to Mastercard holders, whether they had an Indian or international card. Each person was limited to purchasing just two tickets, which were swiftly grabbed by eager fans.

Nevertheless, there is hope for fans who missed out, as another round of ticket sales is expected to take place on September 3rd. The Narendra Modi Stadium, with its impressive capacity of 132,000, should offer a reasonable number of tickets for sale during this upcoming round.

It’s worth noting that the ICC’s ticketing policy allows for only two tickets to be booked per person for all India matches, including the semi-final and final, while for non-India games, up to four tickets per person can be booked.
