Set a target of 185 runs, Bangladesh completed their chase in the afternoon session of the final day, building on their dominant 10-wicket win in the series opener at the same venue. Zakir Hasan played a crucial role with a brisk 40 off 39 balls, including three fours and two sixes, contributing to a solid opening stand of 58 with Shadman Islam.

The match concluded with Shakib Al Hasan’s stylish cover drive off Abrar Ahmed, sealing the win and adding to his unbeaten fifth-wicket partnership of 32 with Mushfiqur Rahim. The victory came after Mominul Haque’s dismissal left Bangladesh at 153-4.

Bangladesh’s first innings was anchored by Litton Das, who scored 136 and shared a crucial 165-run partnership with Mehidy Hasan Miraz, rescuing the team from a precarious 26-6. Mehidy’s all-round performance, including a five-wicket haul, was instrumental in the win.

Pakistan struggled in their second innings, being bowled out for 172 as the batting issues from the first match resurfaced. Hasan Mahmud excels with 5-43, supported by Nahid Rana’s 4-44.

Wicketkeeper Litton Das expressed his joy over the series win, highlighting the crucial partnerships and the team’s collective effort. “It’s a big achievement. I’m very happy and proud of the team’s performance,” he said.

The series loss extends Pakistan’s home red-ball cricket struggles to six defeats and four draws since their last victory against South Africa in Rawalpindi in 2021.
