In a statement issued by PCP Chairman Arshad Jadoon, the council condemned Gandapur’s “irresponsible and inappropriate remarks” directed at the journalist community, especially targeting women journalists. The comments, made during Gandapur’s speech on September 8, were described as both offensive and unprofessional.

The PCP underscored that as the chief executive of the province, Gandapur is expected to maintain a high level of respect and decorum in his communications. The council highlighted that such abusive language not only undermines the dignity of Gandapur’s office but also sets a negative precedent for the citizens of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The PCP’s statement cited Section 8 of the PCP Ordinance, which emphasizes the council’s role in protecting press freedom and receiving complaints from newspapers, journalists, or any concerned individuals or institutions. This section supports the PCP’s action in addressing violations against the media.

The council has instructed Gandapur to cease using vulgar and irresponsible language when referring to journalists and has demanded that he issue a formal apology within 15 days from the date of the notice. The PCP’s directive aims to uphold the integrity of press freedom and ensure respectful discourse within the province.
