President Xi Reassures PM Kakar of China’s Commitment to CPEC and Regional Peace

In a significant development, Pakistan and China have once again demonstrated their unwavering commitment to fortify their partnership for the greater good of their nations.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar, speaking on behalf of Pakistan, emphatically stated that nothing would be allowed to compromise the crucial strategic partnership between the two countries.

This renewed commitment was made during a delegation-level meeting between Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar and Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Great Hall of People, coinciding with the 3rd Belt and Road Forum.

According to a statement from the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO), President Xi affirmed China’s readiness to uphold their enduring friendship and deepen their bilateral partnership with Pakistan. He reassured that China remained steadfast in its support for the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and regional peace.

Prime Minister Kakar, echoing the sentiments of his Chinese counterpart, described the bilateral partnership as “made in heaven.” He underlined Pakistan’s unshakable trust in China and emphasized that Pakistan was resolute in its determination to protect the sanctity of the strategic partnership from any external threats.

In his opening remarks, Prime Minister Kakar highlighted Pakistan’s unwavering support for the ‘One-China Policy.’ He made it clear that Pakistan’s commitment to its relationship with China was unwavering.

He also commended President Xi’s eight proposals presented at the forum, viewing them as a roadmap not only for physical connectivity but also as a stabilizing force in the international arena. Kakar praised the Belt and Road Initiative as a practical solution to global challenges.

After the meeting with President Xi, Prime Minister Kakar took to Twitter to underscore the extensive dimensions of the Pakistan-China relationship that had been discussed during their interaction.

He stated, “…I underscored that Pakistan would continue working with China to promote regional connectivity and economic development and to make Gwadar a key connectivity hub, thus advancing the socio-economic development of Pakistan.”

Furthermore, President Xi reasserted China’s support for Pakistan’s sovereignty, territorial integrity, and developmental initiatives. He also accepted an invitation from Prime Minister Kakar to visit Pakistan at his earliest convenience.

Prime Minister Kakar encouraged Chinese corporate leaders to explore the vast investment opportunities available in Pakistan. This discussion took place during a meeting with numerous Chinese corporate executives on the sidelines of the Third Belt and Road Forum.

The meeting included prominent figures from companies such as Minmetals, MCC, China Communication Construction Company, China Road and Bridge Corporation, Amer International Group, Power China, China Energy, and China Gezhouba Group.

Prime Minister Kakar outlined Pakistan’s vision for sustainable and inclusive development and emphasized the country’s investor-friendly policies, including the establishment of the Special Investment Facilitation Council, designed to streamline foreign investment processes.

He urged Chinese corporate executives to consider investment prospects in various sectors, including ICT, agriculture, renewable energy, textiles, the digital economy, and mining and minerals.

In a follow-up to these discussions, the caretaker prime minister later visited Urumqi, further solidifying the cooperative ties between Pakistan and China.

With their commitment to the strategic partnership unwavering, Pakistan and China are set to embark on a journey of enhanced collaboration, propelling both nations towards greater economic and geopolitical significance.
