PM Kakar to Attend ECO Summit in Tashkent

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar is set to embark on a significant journey to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, on Wednesday. His mission: the Economic Cooperation Organisation (ECO) summit, scheduled for November 8-9, according to the Foreign Office (FO).

Kakar’s participation is a testament to Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to the ECO Vision 2025, promoting regional cooperation in trade, transport, connectivity, energy, tourism, economic growth, and productivity, as affirmed by the FO.

The interim premier’s agenda includes presenting Pakistan’s vision for the organization’s future work and fostering regional connectivity and mutual prosperity. To achieve these goals, Kakar will engage in bilateral discussions with Uzbekistan’s leadership and other participating leaders, as disclosed by the FO.

The statement underscores Pakistan’s foundational role as an ECO member, emphasizing its dedication to promoting connectivity and mutual prosperity within the ECO region.

This summit follows former Foreign Minister Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s attendance at the 26th ECO Council of Ministers meeting in Tashkent earlier this year in January.
