Militant Attack Claims 14 Soldiers in Gwadar

17 soldiers lost their lives in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. These tragic incidents included a militant attack in Gwadar, a remote-controlled bomb explosion in Dera Ismail Khan, and intense security operations in Lakki Marwat. The military confirmed these sorrowful events on a somber Friday.

A devastating event unfolded in Gwadar when militants attacked two security force vehicles, resulting in the loss of 14 Pakistan Army soldiers. This grim incident occurred as the military vehicles were en route from Pasni to Ormara in the coastal district.

The Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) swiftly responded, assuring the public that a sanitization operation was underway and that the perpetrators of this heinous act would be brought to justice.

The ISPR emphasized the unwavering determination of Pakistan’s security forces to eliminate terrorism, stating that these sacrifices only strengthen their resolve.

Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar condemned the Gwadar attack, vowing that the malicious intentions of the militants would not succeed. He paid tribute to the martyred soldiers, acknowledging their sacrifices for the nation’s safety.

He conveyed that the entire nation stands proudly with its martyrs. He emphasized that such attacks could not demoralize the nation and its armed forces.

Before the Gwadar attack, a series of bomb blasts targeted convoys of police and security forces in the Dera Ismail Khan district. These tragic incidents claimed the lives of six individuals, including five civilians and a soldier, while leaving 24 others injured.

The first incident occurred when a police convoy was on its way to a checkpoint in the Kulachi tehsil. An improvised explosive device (IED) planted in a motorcycle went off, resulting in the loss of five bystanders and injuries to several others, including civilians and police officials.

In another heart-wrenching incident, a second IED explosion occurred in Hathala, a town situated on the border between Tank and Dera Ismail Khan districts, leading to the martyrdom of a soldier.

Two separate security operations in Dera Ismail Khan’s Rori area and KP’s Lakki Marwat district resulted in the unfortunate sacrifice of two soldiers. In the first operation, soldiers neutralized a suicide bomber and injured two others.

The deceased militant, identified as Usama, had planned a high-profile attack in the area. In the second operation, security forces eliminated a militant and destroyed several hideouts. However, the exchange of fire with the militants also led to the loss of two soldiers.

These heart-wrenching events underline the challenges Pakistan faces in its ongoing battle against terrorism, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan. Pakistan remains unwavering in its commitment to maintaining peace and eliminating the threat of terrorism.
