During his visit, Gen Munir met with soldiers who had recently participated in counter-terrorism operations in the Tirah Valley and surrounding areas. These operations, based on “robust intelligence,” resulted in significant successes, including the death of at least 25 militants and the injury of 11 others. Unfortunately, four soldiers also lost their lives in these operations.

The army chief was briefed on the current security situation, the ongoing intelligence-based counter-terrorism actions, and the measures being implemented to ensure stability in the merged districts. He expressed appreciation for the high morale and readiness of the troops and praised their effective responses to various threats.

Gen Munir paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the martyrs and praised the contributions of both the army and law enforcement agencies in maintaining peace in the region. He reiterated the army’s resolve to uphold the peace achieved through these significant sacrifices and laid a wreath at the Yadgar-i-Shuhada in honor of the fallen.

The COAS assured that the Pakistan Army will continue to provide full support to the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police and other law enforcement agencies, aiding them in their duties within the newly merged districts.
