Iran’s interior minister arrives in Pakistan

Iran Interior Minister Dr Ahmad Vahidi arrived in Islamabad on Monday on a day-long visit, where he was welcomed by his Pakistani partner, Sheik Rashid Ahmed.

Dr Vahidi’s appearance follows the visit of Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef to the nation last week.

The nine-member Iranian commission was welcomed by the interior minister and other senior ranking authorities.

As per a concise statement given by the Ministry of Interior, during his day-long visit, the Iranian minister will hold gatherings with Prime Minister Imran Khan and other government officials.

During his meetings, the report said, Dr Vahidi and Pakistani authorities will talk about issues connected with the Pak-Iran border management and the trading of convicts.

In October last year, both the nations had consented to frame a unique board of trustees for successful execution on an understanding for the trading of detainees.

The agreement was settled in a meeting between Ahmed addressing Pakistan and individuals from the Iran-Pakistan Parliamentary Friendship Group in Majlis (Iranian Parliament).

The two sides had additionally examined ideas to beat terrorism and human trafficking and pledged to save their endeavours to go on for the development of stable Afghanistan.
