Pakistan Further reduces the age limit for citizens over 18 years to get a free booster dose

From tomorrow onwards, citizens over eighteen will be eligible to get a free booster dose of a vaccine of their choice. Formerly people of 30 years or above were permissible to take booster jabs. However, the National Command and Operations Centre (NCOC) has passed this eligibility amid the sharp rise in the Covid positivity rate that has reached 7.36%.

The apex COVID-19 body tweeted, “In today’s NCOC session, the age limit for a booster dose has been further reduced. From tomorrow onwards, citizens over 18 years will be eligible for a free booster dose of their choice. Booster (one dose) will be administered after 6 months gap from complete vaccination,”

The NCOC is also contemplating imposing restrictions on marriage ceremonies on account of the source of “super spreaders” of Covid-19 as has been the case in the past and is happening now.
