Russia blocks access to Facebook and Twitter

Russia has restricted Facebook owned by Tech giant Meta on March 4, stating that the platform is oppressing Russian channels.

The country’s media controller Roskomnadzor said that they had noticed 26 instances of victimization by Russian state-supported channels like RT and the RIA news organization since October 2020, which they consider an infringement of Russian’s rights and freedom.

Consequently, Meta’s head of global affairs, Nick Clegg, said the organization would keep on doing all that it could in restoring the services.

Russia has also limited admittance to Twitter. Several news agencies complained the platform is not accessible. Twitter Inc didn’t promptly answer the concerned issue.
