Australian PM warns Kanye West, he must be vaccinated for tour

Hip-hop artist Kanye West should be fully vaccinated to give shows in Australia, Scott Morrison said on Saturday, after media said the entertainer arranged an Australian visit in March.

The reprimand comes only fourteen days after tennis champion Novak Djokovic’s expectations for an Australian Open title was flashed when a court maintained the public authority’s choice to drop his visa over Covid-19 principles and his unvaccinated status.

“The principles are you must be fully vaccinated,” Morrison told a news gathering on Saturday. “They apply to everyone, as individuals have seen most as of late. It doesn’t make any difference who you are, that they are the principles. Observe the guidelines – you can come. You don’t keep the guidelines you can’t.”

Morrison’s comments followed a report on Friday in the Sydney Morning Herald, referring to industry sources, that said West wanted to play arena shows in Australia in March.

Agents for West, who delivered his most recent collection, Donda, in July, were not quickly accessible for input.

The vaccination status of West, a 2020 US official up-and-comer who won less than 60,000 votes, is obscure.

In a 2021 meeting via social media, he said he had gotten one vaccine portion. In a 2020 meeting with business magazine Forbes, he called getting vaccinated “the stain of evil”.

Australia, one of the most vigorously immunized countries against Covid-19, has been fighting an unstable influx of diseases in the previous month driven by the quick spreading Omicron variation, with around 2 million cases recorded.

Up to that point, it had only 400,000 cases since the pandemic initially hit almost two years prior.

On Saturday, 97 individuals passed, after Friday’s pandemic record of 98 passings. Health authorities in a few states said, notwithstanding, that medical clinic confirmations were either levelling or giving indications of a decrease.
